ด้านสำนักงานสอบสวนกลาง (เอฟบีไอ) ออกแถลงการณ์ว่า ผู้ต้องสงสัยที่ขับรถคันดังกล่าวเสียชีวิตแล้ว แต่ไม่มีการเปิดเผยถึงสาเหตุการตาย ขณะเดียวกันเอฟบีไอและหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกำลังสอบสวนกรณีเป็น “การก่อการร้าย”

Our US partner CBS is reporting that investigators are looking into whether the suspect was connected to or inspired by foreign terror groups, according to sources with law enforcement and the City of New Orleans. They are also analysing potential explosive devices found near the scene, CBS adds. (Fox 8)
The FBI has confirmed they are investigating the attack as an "act of terrorism" and that the person who drove the truck is now dead. The suspect fired on police from his vehicle and injured two police officers, who are now in stable condition.
