俄羅斯總統普丁（Vladimir Putin）對烏克蘭發動侵略戰爭，國際社會強烈譴責並祭出一系列制裁行動，英國首相強生今天表示，普丁進行野蠻攻擊，嚴重違反人權，他認為即使現在停火，普丁與國際社會的關係也無法修復。
強生接受倫敦廣播公司電台（LBC Radio）訪問時被問到，如果普丁宣布停止對烏戰爭並表達悔意，是否還有機會重返世界舞台被國際社會接受？強生回應，沒有什麼事是不可能的，但對普丁而言，他現在要悔改將非常困難，「我這輩子都看不到國際社會與普丁的關係能重新正常化。
強生也警告，不要重蹈 2014 年俄羅斯併吞克里米亞（Crimea）的覆轍，當時全球為之震驚，並對此惡劣行徑予以譴責，並實施制裁，我們也都做到了。同時，我們也與他展開某種程度的談判，找尋可以進行的方式，而普丁就是利用這點，若烏克蘭現在要和普丁進行任何形式的談判，也會承擔同樣的風險，而他們也知道這點。
「普丁對一個完全無辜的國家進行如此野蠻的攻擊，嚴重違反人權、國際法」，強生說，若我們與他關係正常化，將重蹈我們在 2014 年犯下的錯誤。
