現年75歲的世界棒壘球總會（World Baseball Softball Confederation）會長法卡利（Riccardo Fraccari）於官網PO出年終感謝文，提到今年12強賽事舉辦的成功外，也預告2027年WBSC的「旗艦賽」將擴展到20支隊伍，並且舉辦資格賽，提高賽事競爭強度。
法卡利強調，11月的第3屆 WBSC Premier12 賽事舉辦，讓WBSC獲得全年成功，包括賽事娛樂性提高，以及觀眾人數成長與支持，法卡利特別提到台灣隊在東京巨蛋決賽敗日本隊，「是個難忘的時刻！」。
今年10 月法卡利曾對外宣布， 2027年WBSC的「旗艦賽」，將擴大到 20 支球隊參加資格賽，包括2025年12月31日年終世界排名前12支球隊直接晉級會內賽，第13-20 名球隊和2支外卡隊伍打資格賽，分為2組，每組4隊取前2名晉級會內賽，加上原本的12強，共計16隊打會內賽，分為4組，每組4隊打首輪循環賽，每組2隊、共計取8隊晉級。
法卡利強調，Premier 12 誕生，改變國際棒球格局，透過有更多參與者有機會參加旗艦賽事，將有機會推動全球國際棒球發展。
