以 HBO 犯罪影集《火線重案組》（The Wire）為人所知的男星麥可肯尼斯威廉斯（Michael Kenneth Williams）終年 54 歲。
根據《People》報導指出，麥可肯尼斯威廉斯於美國時間周一下午兩點，被發現在布魯克林的公寓中死亡。警方表示，當時是麥可肯尼斯威廉斯的外甥在起居室發現他已過世。
麥可肯尼斯威廉斯的代表方在令人遺憾的消息傳出後，發表聲明表示，「非常悲痛地宣布艾美獎提名演員麥可肯尼斯威廉斯去世，其家人在為這逝去感到悲痛之時，希望能保有隱私。」
而在死因尚未公開前，根據《New York Post》的報導指出，麥可肯尼斯威廉斯的公寓中有吸毒用品。一位執法部門的人員則透露，他的死亡疑似是因為吸毒過量，警方認為他可能吸食了含有吩坦尼的海洛因。
不少演藝界好友在得知消息後，紛紛為這位五度獲得艾美獎提名的男星哀悼，包括曾在《火線重案組》共演的溫德爾皮爾斯（Wendell Pierce）和小伊塞亞維特洛克（Isiah Whitlock Jr.），以及曾合作過的喬爾麥克哈爾（Joel McHale）、艾倫芭金（Ellen Barkin）等人。
