Call a/the meeting 召開會議
召開會議更正式的說法是 call a meeting to order，call 是單純召開會議（可以發生會議前），而 call to order 是會議已經正式開始進行，比較偏向下一個 open a/the meeting。
I would like to call a meeting to discuss the issue.
我想召開會議來討論這個議題。
Open a/the meeting 開始會議
Open a/the meeting 是指一場會議的「開場」，類似 begin a meeting 或 start a meeting 的意思。
Since everyone is here, let’s get started!” is a good phrase to open a meeting. 「既然大家都到齊了，那我們就開始吧！」這句話是很好的會議開場白。
Hold a/the meeting 主持會議
主持會議要用 hold 來表示，而會議的主席英文則是 chairperson。
I would like to be the chairperson to hold this meeting.
我想擔任主席來負責主持這場會議。
Agenda 會議議程
Agenda 除了有會議議程的意思，還可以表示「（待辦的）事項」。當要介紹「議程如下」時，可以說 the agenda is as follows。 As follows 是「如下」的意思，為固定用語不論單複數都一定要加 s。

請問大家都有今天的會議議程了嗎？
Meeting minutes 會議記錄
Minutes 這個字大家應該看到都會以為是在講「分鐘」吧？其實在會議情境下，它代表著「會議記錄」，會以複數型呈現。如果要說「做會議記錄」，則搭配 keep/take 這兩個動詞，所以就是 keep/take (the) (meeting) minutes。

有人可以為今天的會議做紀錄嗎？
Give the floor (to…) 主持人給予某人發言權
Give the floor 即是主持人將發言機會讓給與會者，請他們表達意見的意思。 Floor 在這邊的意思其實就是發言時的「講台」，而 take the floor 則表示「取得發言權」。
I’d like to give the floor to Miss Smith.
現在，請史密斯小姐發言。
Defer a/the matter 延後討論
Defer 是「推延，往後」的意思。在會議中，通常是因為某個議題因為某些原因，沒辦法繼續討論或是得到結論，所以才予以延後。
I propose to defer this matter until we have more information at our disposal.
我想等未來有更多資訊時，再行討論此議題。
Vote 投票
Vote 當動詞用表示「投票」，如果會議與會者為偶數，就會陷入 event of a tie，可能出現平手的狀況！而這時就會有 casting vote「決定性的一票」，來決定結果。如果 vote 當名詞時表示「票；表決」，相關的用法為 put sth. to the/a vote「對…進行表決」。
Only a minority of the team voted for the plan. 團隊裡只有少數成員投票贊成這項計劃。
Reach a consensus 達成共識
Reach 為動詞「達到」，而 consensus 為名詞有「共識」的意思，
It seems that we’ve reached a consensus.
看來我們已經達成共識。
Close or end a/the meeting 結束會議
「開始」會議用 open，「結束」會議則是用 close/close 來表示。
And on that note, we will close today’s meeting.今天的會議就到這邊，我們將會結束會議。
