美國總統拜登5日任命尚皮耶(Karine Jean-Pierre)為白宮的下一任新聞祕書，她是第一個擔任這個職位的非裔人士。
目前是副新聞秘書的尚皮耶，將從13日起接替莎琪(Jen Psaki)，成為首位LGBTQ(同性戀、雙性戀、跨性別及酷兒)發言人。
拜登在聲明中讚揚尚皮耶的經驗、才能和正直，表示他「自豪地」宣佈她的任命。

莎琪則在推特發文說，尚皮耶將成為第一位擔任白宮新聞祕書的非裔女性及公開的LGBTQ+人士。她將為許多人發聲並讓很多人懷抱著可能成真的夢想。
至於即將卸任的莎琪，她從一開始就表示會在拜登任內去職。根據美國媒體報導，她將加入微軟國家廣播公司(MSNBC)。
44歲的尚皮耶在2008年和2012年參與前總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)的競選活動，並在2020年加入拜登的競選團隊，然後成為拜登白宮團隊的一分子。
