曾在NBA效力過、如今成為ESPN名嘴的Jalen Rose在節目上透露，他可以很確定Leonard會續約暴龍。「我聽到99%準確的說法，是Leonard會跟暴龍簽下2年續約，等再次跳出的時候，滿足十年老將的條件，他就可以簽下金額最大的超級頂薪。」Rose對自己的爆料相當篤定，「我的消息來源從來都是那些人，你們也知道我不是那種跟風的人，但剛才我的消息算是確定的。」

ESPN資深記者Tim MacMahon也轉發表示：「一位可能被Leonard決策影響到的NBA球員也給我發了簡訊，他說自己聽到的傳言跟（Rose）是一樣的。但這些傳言並非直接來自Leonard自己的團隊。」Rose去年曾經成功預測Leonard不會再為馬刺打任何一場比賽，現在他爆料Leonard會續約暴龍，無疑也讓市面上的流言出現了翻天覆地的變化。

暴龍隨隊記者Josh Lewenberg則表示，出於Leonard的要求，暴龍高層口風很嚴，但他人在多倫多已經是個好兆頭，至少證明他還願意認真考慮暴龍，不然他不會花5個小時的飛行時間專程趕過去只說一句再見。
