Now that you know how to think when prioritizing tasks, it's important that you think of certain skills that will help you to better accomplish them. The first I recommend is exercise. Not only does exercise help you slim down or get rid of unnecessary things/weight, it also has a lot of mental health benefits as well. Exercise helps you to build confidence to do different tasks because you already accomplished them in a physical sense. If you have the confidence to complete tasks then we won't break a sweat or become nervous when you encounter a new situation. Exercise also gives you time to be away from everything and think about what you really want to do with your life. If you know how to organize your thoughts, you'll be able to run the show or control the situation when the time happens. Not only will exercise help you look better and feel better, it also help you to think better.
“This report is too long.We need to slim it down before sending it out.”
“He never breaks a sweat when doing a presentation because he rehearses.”
“My boss runs the show in meetings yet always allows everyone to ask questions.”
Another way to think better is to constantly learn. You need to always think that you are a bookworm or a person who likes to constantly read. Most people stop learning after school and only focus on things that they want to read about in their free time.By reading nonfiction books in your free time, you're able to have more of an understanding of various situations. It will develop skills to be able to read between the lines or understand information that hasn't been disclosed and be able to make better decisions. Reading gives you time to build your intuition about what is the correct answer. This doesn't just require that you just learn the ropes or understand the structure of how something works, but it requires that you know more about what you want and what knowledge that you will need to achieve your goals.
“Did you hear that Warren Buffet is a bookworm and reads 6 hours a day?”
“You can’t just believe him.You need to read between the lines to see what he wants.”
“Give him some time to adjust. He is just learning the ropes.”
In order to achieve one's goal, you need to think a lot about it. The most difficult part when making a priority list is brainstorming because it requires a lot of thought without judgement. You will need to mull over the different tasks you need to do or to consider all the details. This is where meditation can help because it allows thoughts to naturally come into your brain without you focusing specifically on them. When any idea that comes in your head, you need to entertain that idea or consider it before moving on to another idea.By even having the thought alone, you give yourself time to ponder if it's necessary or not. If it's necessary you can put on your thinking cap or consider it in detail about how you're going to accomplish it. By meditating for 20 or 30 minutes a day, you will allow yourself to be more calm and be much better at knowing what's important and what's not important.
“She has been mulling over changing companies for the past two years but hasn’t made a decision.”
“I have been entertaining the idea of studying abroad for the past few years.”
“We need to put on our thinking caps in order to find a solution to our sales’ problem.”
If you still have free time, you should try to calm down by picking up a new routine.A hobby is something creative that you do in your free time. It helps you to build skills so that you could become a jack-of-all-trades or someone who has the skills to do a pretty much anything. By everyday meticulously working on a certain task, you will eventually have the right stuff or have the ability to complete all the different things you need to do everyday. This requires that you put some effort towards it during the week so that over many years you become a master of your craft or the person who has great knowledge of the skill. The best part of keeping hobbies is that all these skills can be used at your job. You know how to break down your tasks at work into simple steps that you can accomplish and know how to better Label the tasks that you need to complete at work.
“After working in every department, he has become a jack-of-all-trades in the office.”
“She has the right stuff to become the CEO.”
“They are masters of their craft because of the effort they have given the past 20 years.”
How do we know what things are better to help you complete tasks? How can you put your plans into action? This requires you think about your goals in a different way. To better be able to achieve your goals, you must put them into an “if-then” plan. This strategy requires that you give a time, a place, or an event and then state the thing that you will do. You have to make sure that your “if-then” is very specific in order to be able to achieve your goal. Another thing to do is to help build a good habit like meditation a reading you can give a place and then the goal. You can considering these as a beginning step in order to be able to accomplish all your goals.
“If I finish work at 7, then I will go for a 30 minute run.”
“If I am in the living room, then you can meditate for 30 minutes before watching TV.”
“If I have no other pressing tasks at work on today, then I will read for the rest of the day.”
Language can really affect the way you set your priorities. The more effective you are with your time the more effective you will be in every aspect of your life.
