ผ่านพ้นไปเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว สำหรับงานประกาศรางวัลทางดนตรีที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดของวงการเพลงอเมริกาอย่าง ‘Grammy Awards’ ครั้งที่ 62 ประจำปี 2020 เมื่อคืนวันอาทิตย์ที่ 26 มกราคมที่ผ่านมา ณ สเตเปิลส์เซ็นเตอร์ ในลอสแอนเจลิส รัฐแคลิฟอร์เนีย หรือช่วงเช้าวันจันทร์ที่ 27 มกราคม ตามเวลาในประเทศไทย โดยมีนักร้องอาร์แอนด์บีสาว Alicia Keys มารับหน้าที่เป็นพิธีกรติดต่อกันเป็นครั้งที่สอง
ในปีนี้ ป็อบสตาร์สาวดาวรุ่ง Billie Eilish สร้างสถิติใหม่ด้วยการคว้ารางวัลมากที่สุดถึง 5 สาขา ซึ่งเธอถือเป็นศิลปินหญิงคนแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ที่คว้ารางวัลใน 4 สาขาใหญ่ ทั้ง Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year และ Best New Artist ได้สำเร็จในปีเดียวกัน หลัง Christopher Cross เคยทำสถิตินี้ไว้ครั้งสุดท้ายในปี 1981 และเธอยังเป็นศิลปินที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุดที่คว้ารางวัล Album of the Year ในวัยเพียง 18 ปีอีกด้วย โดยรางวัลอีกสาขาที่เธอได้รับก็คือ Best Pop Vocal Album จากผลงานเดบิวต์อย่าง ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’
Lizzo ซึ่งได้รับการเสนอชื่อมากที่สุดในปีนี้ที่ 8 สาขา สามารถคว้ารางวัลกลับไปทั้งหมด 3 สาขาด้วยกัน ได้แก่ Best Pop Solo Performance จากเพลง “Truth Hurts”, Best Urban Contemporary Album จากอัลบั้ม ‘Cuz I Love You’ และ Best Traditional R&B Performance จากเพลง “Jerome” ในขณะที่หมวดหมู่เพลงอิเลกทรอนิกส์ วงดูโอ้ระดับตำนานจากอังกฤษอย่าง The Chemical Brothers สามารถคว้ารางวัลไปได้ทั้งสองสาขา ได้แก่ Best Dance/Electronic Album จากอัลบั้ม ‘No Geography’ และ Best Dance Recording จากเพลง “Got to Keep On”
