ชีวิตคนผิวดำก็สำคัญ! บิวตี้แบรนด์ดังทั่วโลก หันมาร่วมสนับสนุน #BLACKLIVESMATTER เรียกร้องความเป็นธรรมให้แก่ จอร์จ ฟลอยด์ และกลุ่มคนผิวสี

จากเหตุการณ์น่าเศร้าใจของ จอร์จ ฟลอยด์ (George Floyd) ชายผิวสีชาวอเมริกัน วัย 46 ปี เสียชีวิต ขณะถูกเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจเมืองมินนีแอโปลิส รัฐมินนิโซตา 4 นายใช้กำลังควบคุมตั วเนื่องจากต้องสงสัยว่าเขาครอบครองและกำลังใช้เงินดอลลาร์ปลอม โดย ดีเรค โชฟวิน ตำรวจผิวขาวใช้เข่ากดคอ จอร์จ ฟลอยด์ นานเกือบ 9 นาที จนเขาขาดอากาศหายใจและเสียชีวิต

จึงกลายเป็นชนวนเหตุที่ทำให้คนอเมริกันชนออกมาเรียกร้องเรื่องการเลือกปฏิบัติต่อกลุ่มคนผิวสีอีกครั้ง ภายใต้การเคลื่อนไหวที่เรียกว่า Black Lives Matter (ชีวิตคนผิวดำก็สำคัญ) #BLACKLIVESMATTER ซึ่งการประท้วงเรียกร้องความเป็นธรรมให้แก่ จอร์จ ฟลอยด์ และกลุ่มคนผิวสี ขยายวงกว้างออกไปตามเมืองต่างๆ จนเข้าสู่ภาวะจลาจลเต็มรูปแบบอีกด้วย

และเหตุการณ์ในครั้งนี้ทำให้เหล่าบิวตี้แบรนด์ดังหลายแบรนด์ ออกมาร่วมสนับสนุนต่อต้านความอยุติธรรมนี้ พร้อมร่วมบริจาคเงินช่วยเหลือองค์กรที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในครั้งนี้ อาทิ

แบรนด์ Fenty Beauty ของแม่ริริ (Rihanna) อีกหนึ่งแบรนด์ที่ให้ความสำคัญกับคนผิวสีมาก ซึ่งทุกผลิตภัณฑ์ในแบรนด์ทำมาเพื่อกลุ่มคนทุกเฉดสี เช่น รองพื้นก็ออกมาถึง 50 เฉดสี เพื่อเข้าได้กับทุกสีผิวจริงๆ และสำหรับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นทางแบรนด์ได้ร่วมโพสต์ภาพพื้นดำ หรือ Blackout (2 มิ.ย.) ลงบนอินสตาแกรม และจะไม่มีการประกอบการใดๆ ในวันนี้ด้วย
แบรนด์ MAC Cosmetics ก็ได้ร่วมโพสต์ภาพ Blackout ลงบนอินสตาแกรม เพื่อสนับสนุนเช่นเดียวกัน
แบรนด์ URBAN DECAY ได้ร่วมบริจาคเงินสนับสนุนองค์กร Minnesota Freedom Fund และ Black Lives Matter
แบรนด์ MAYBELLINE ร่วมสนับสนุนความเท่าเทียม โดยการร่วมบริจาคเงินสนับสนุนองค์กร NAACP
แบรนด์ NYX Cosmetics สนับสนุนชาวผิวสี และจะมีการเพิ่มเฉดผลิตภัณฑ์ครอบคลุมโทนสีผิวเข้มมากขึ้น
แบรนด์ GLOSSIER ร่วมบริจาคเงิน จำนวน 500,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ สนับสนุนองค์กรที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง ทั้ง Black Lives Matter, The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, The Equal Justice Initiative, The Marsha P. Johnson Institute และ We The Protesters นอกจากนี้ยังมีการสนับสนุนชาวผิวสีที่เป็นเจ้าของธุรกิจความงามด้วยเงินจำนวน 500,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ อีกเช่นกัน
แบรนด์ KOSAS ร่วมสนับสนุนองค์กร Black Lives Matters, Black Lives Matters LA และ Color of Change ด้วยเงินบริจาคจำนวน 20,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ
แบรนด์ Herbivore Botanicals สกินแคร์สายออร์แกนิค บริจาคส่วนของกำไร 100% สำหรับยอดขายในสัปดาห์นี้เพื่อสนับสนุนองค์กรอย่าง ACLU, Black Lives Matter และ Minnesota Freedom Fund
แบรนด์ E.L.F. Cosmetics ร่วมบริจาคเงินสนับสนุนองค์กร Color of Change จำนวน 25,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ
แบรนด์ COCOKIND สกินแคร์สายคลีนได้ร่วมบริจาค 10,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ ให้แก่องค์กร ACLU และจะบริจาคในส่วนของกำไรที่ได้อีก 100% จากการขายบนเว็บไซต์ตลอดสัปดาห์นี้ให้แก่อีก 7 องค์กร Black Lives Matter , NAACP , Southern Poverty Law Center , Bay Area Black Owned Business Relief Fund , Reclaim the Block , BlackVisions และ Campaign Zero อีกด้วย
