TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The technology festival dubbed Orbit Habibie Festival initiated by Ilham A Habibie has again been established on October 17-19 at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. In its seventh year, the festival carries the theme of The Future of Learning, Work, Play, and Living.
"The cycle of innovation starts with learning. Better learning enables more efficient and effective work that leads to more playing time. In general, this [innovation] creates a better quality of life," said Ilham in Jakarta, Thursday, October 17.
The festival presents a variety of events, ranging from exhibitions of innovations in technology and science, talk shows, show and tell presentations, panel discussions, mini-seminars, up to workshops.
Modern technologies of Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Drones, Artificial Intelligence or AI, Virtual Reality, and Games, as well as the traditional industries of Aerospace, Automotive, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Banking, Fintech, Entertainment, and Education, will also be exhibited during the event.
Visitors can ride and take photos in the Cockpit Mockup of N250 aircraft at the festival. Upon entering Hall A2, visitors can also try out the flight simulator from R80 aircraft that was designed by the late B.J Habibie.
Based on Tempo observationon Thursday, most of the visitors donned student uniforms, either from elementary schools or university. People also queued to try the flight simulator that was guided by instructors. In addition, visitors can also peer inside the R80 aircraft using virtual reality (VR) technology.
Orbit Habibie Festival will be officially opened on Friday, October 18, by Ilham A. Habibie. The opening ceremony will be attended by President of Grab Indonesia Ridzki Kramadibrata, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer for New Energy Nexus Hendrik Tiesinga, Co-founder of Indonesia Education Forum Shoeb Kagda, and Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
