A 13-year-old teenager, identified only as Y, was found dead after a 4-meter long python wrapped around his body on the bank of the Sector XII Kencana Loka River in Serpong district, South Tangerang on Monday.
Serpong Criminal Investigation Unit head First Insp. Lutfi Hayata said Y and his friend, 13-year-old R, were trying to catch a snake.
“A witness said both teenagers were looking for a snake,” Lutfi said, as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.

Y tried to catch the python on the riverbank but the snake resisted and wrapped around Y’s body. R tried to unwrap the snake’s body to no avail. R then asked nearby residents for help but nobody dared to go down to the river and untangle the snake.
"The witness and other residents waited until the snake had stopped constricting Y’s body and left. The body was immediately taken to a funeral home,” said Lutfi.
He added that his party would further investigate the case by asking R, who was currently undergoing trauma healing. “We can’t question R yet because he is still experiencing trauma. But he said he would be able to give us information tomorrow [Thursday],” he said. (aly)Artikel Asli
