TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has not yet permitted four sectors to be reopened during the first phase of the transition period of the large-scale social restriction or PSBB, which will begin on June 5, 2020.
Two out of the four sectors are religious activities that gather crowds and schools or other educational institutions.
"Their reopening will be in the second phase that will happen later but the time is not yet known," said Anies in an online press conference on Thursday, June 4, 2020.
Anies confirmed that the 2020/2021 school year will start on July 13, but that does not mean the learning process will take place at schools.
"So home learning order is still applied on July 13. Don't assume that the first day of school means studying at schools," Anies remarked.
Meanwhile, the third sector is businesses, trade, and industry, such as beauty clinics, barbershops, conference halls (MICE), wedding reception, theaters, film production houses, night entertainment venues, and others.
The fourth sector is people's mobility using transportation modes, including indoor gym facilities, swimming pools, festivals, night market, and others.
Anies Baswedan said the reopening of those activities will wait for the evaluation of the first-phase transition period, which will be held at the end of June 2020. Anies further stressed that the PSBB relaxation will be halted if Jakarta sees a hike in Covid-19 cases later in the future.
