The Grab Indonesia ride-hailing service has denied an allegation that it discriminates between its drivers leveled by the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), which is to schedule a hearing on the company's allegedly unfair business practices.
Grab Indonesia spokesman Tri Sukma Anreianno stressed that the company always treated all drivers fairly as its partners.
“We are committed to always giving equal treatment to our drivers as partners, both those who are registered in TPI [PT Teknologi Pengangkutan Indonesia] and other legal entities,” said Tri in a statement received on Friday.
He was responding to a statement issued by KPPU commissioner Guntur Saragih, who accused Grab of discriminating between its drivers – giving higher priority to drivers from TPI over its individual drivers.
Tri said the company respected and supported the legal process that was being handled by the KPPU in Medan.
Tri said Grab was also committed to improving the welfare of all its drivers and wanted to ensure that they did their jobs properly.
He said that through a rating system that is based on the assessments of users, the drivers are expected to be committed to their jobs by improving the quality of their services. (bbn)Artikel Asli
