Director Angga Dwimas Sasongko has released a short movie titled Menanti Keajaiban (Revisiting Hope), which was shot entirely on a Huawei smartphone.
The movie was produced in collaboration with Indonesian rock band Padi Reborn and Chinese telecom giant Huawei.
“I have made several films in this decade using both professional tools and smartphones," said Angga in a statement. "Making short films with smartphones is not easy but the developing technology has enabled me to make smaller and experimental projects such as Menanti Keajaiban, inspired by the song of the same name by Padi Reborn."
The 20-minute movie was shot using a Huawei Mate 30 Pro, which is equipped with four kinds of cameras, including a 40 MP cine camera and an 8 MP telephoto lens.

Available on Visinema Pictures and Huawei Mobile Indonesia's YouTube channels, streaming service iFlix and Kaskus TV, it tells the story of two writers who create contrasting characters and dimensions that ultimately reveal a bond between the writers.
With Menanti Keajaiban, Angga hopes to inspire young filmmakers to explore films and cinematography through smartphones. To that end, he has joined the jury team of the Huawei Film Awards, an Asia-Pacific festival that recognizes works made on Huawei smartphones. The competition is open for submissions until Feb. 25 and more details can be found here. (https://consumer.huawei.com/id/campaign/film-awards/submission/)
Angga is known for his award-winning films, such as Cahaya dari Timur: Beta Maluku (We Are Moluccans) and Surat dari Praha (Letter from Prague). His newest film, Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini (NKCTHI, One Day We'll Talk about Today), has sold over 1.9 million tickets since its release in early January. (gis/wng)Artikel Asli
