NABLUS, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian woman Nadia Asida, 58, has planted figs for years in her field in Tal village, west of the West Bank city of Nablus.
The 15-dunam field produces about three to four tons of figs annually, which are sold in the West Bank markets for around 15 shekels (4.5 U.S. dollars) per kilo.
Figs, an edible fruit that can be eaten fresh or dried, or processed into jam, rolls, biscuits and other types of desserts, are one of the most popular fruits in the Middle East during summer.
