LHOKSEUMAWE, Indonesia, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Floating fish farms are forming an important part of local fisheries industry in Lhokseumawe, a major coastal city in Indonesia's Aceh Province located on the northwest tip of Sumatra Island.
Indonesia, an archipelago with more than 17,000 islands and a coastline of about 81,000 km, is known for its aquaculture commodities of shrimp, lobster, crab and seaweed. In recent years, the government of the Southeast Asian country has developed an aquaculture village program in efforts to boost fisheries production and exports, as well as promote post-pandemic economic recovery.
