Lady Gaga, famous award-winning musical artist and actress, has postponed her highly-anticipated new album, "Chromatica", because of the coronavirus outbreak in the US. She urges people to stay home during the pandemic.

The news was released ahead of her 34th birthday, which is on March 28.

"It's important to me that the attention is on getting essential medical equipment to health care professionals, making sure kids who depend on public schools for meals get the help they need and that we help those who will be financially impacted by this pandemic," she said.

Her new album arrives four years after the release of her last album, "Joanne" (2016), although she released the soundtrack for the movie A Star Is Born, co-starring Bradley Cooper, who sang with her on the hit Shallow in addition to other tracks.

Her shows at MGM in Las Vegas from April 30 to May 11 have also been cancelled due to the Center for Disease Control's edict to avoid large social gatherings.

Despite the disappointment of having to wait, fans were given a small taste of the new, long-awaited album through Stupid Love, the lead single which was officially released in February along with a music video.

What's most exciting about the new single is the fashion icon has gone back to her defining one-of-a-kind style. A handful of looks in the video pay homage to her earlier career's daring style: Alexander McQueen's Armadillo shoes, tight Versace bodysuits and whimsical Thierry Mugler collaborations.

Set in a futuristic, wild background, the film is saturated with lemon yellow, metallic and shocking pink (even her hair is that colour), which Gaga wore throughout, matched with rubber, leather and latex materials in the outlandish style she was once known for.

After checking out the designers with whom she collaborated, we're excited to see the quintessential Gaga is back.

One of her bright pink looks was designed by Vex Clothing, a latex fashion brand from Chicago which created Gaga's renowned octopus outfit in 2014. The ensemble comprises an underwire bra and Marilyn Knickers echoes some of the sadomasochist stage performance that she (and Madonna) made popular.

Another eye-catching, idiosyncratic pink outfit was a custom-made piece by metal apparel label Laurel DeWitt. If you still remember Beyonce's magnificent metallic floral gown in Coldplay's video Hymn for the Weekend, or the fringed blue bodysuit in her hit Spirit (for the movie The Lion King), those were both bespoke creations by the same designer.

The diva's current Instagram profile photo features a stunning hi-tech armoury outfit reminiscent of Sailor Moon from the music video. It's tailor-made by New York-based label Kaimin, established by Korean and Japanese talent Karmin, who often seeks inspiration from New York City's underground culture.

Her portrayal of Ally in A Star is Born as well as her appearances at the Oscars red carpet in 2019 and Met Gala in recent years all strike an elegant and beautiful (some might say boring) note. It has been too long since she championed head-spinning and inspiring fashion that Hollywood is lacking. With her renewed boldness and perpetual boundary-breaking, we say: "Happy birthday and welcome back, Gaga!"
