BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan confirmed that midfielder Li Ke has departed after his contract expired.
"Many thanks to Li Ke. Your hard work for Guoan during the past six years will become our shared memory," the Beijing club wrote in a statement released on Tuesday.
Li, known as Nico Yennaris before being naturalized, posted a statement on social media earlier on Tuesday, marking an end to his six-year stint at Beijing Guoan.
"It's time to say goodbye. The six years I spent at Beijing Guoan are extraordinary for me," he wrote in Chinese.
"Today is the end of this journey," he added.
Since joining Beijing Guoan in January 2019, Li has made 98 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals and eight assists. ■
