Xinhua president meets ROK ambassador to China

BEIJING, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- President of Xinhua News Agency Fu Hua met with ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Ro Jae Hun in Beijing on Thursday.

Noting that Xinhua attaches great importance to its coverage of the ROK, Fu said that Xinhua stands ready to work with ROK media to tell stories of exchanges and cooperation across various fields between China and the ROK, enhance the friendship between the two peoples, and foster a positive public opinion environment for the development of bilateral relations.

Xinhua is willing to strengthen cooperation with ROK media and think tanks within the framework of multilateral mechanisms, Fu added.

For his part, Ro spoke highly of the role played by Xinhua in promoting the development of ROK-China relations and exchanges between media and think tanks. He expressed his willingness to actively promote cooperation between media and think tanks of the two countries, so as to contribute to the development of bilateral relations. ■
