A need for speed

The fighter got a stern lecture from a judge in Ireland after he failed to pay a Euro400 (US$434) fine for speeding in 2017. McGregor laughed when the judge told him he could pay in instalments, but later said he wanted to appear in court in person to "show respect".

That Khabib bus attack

Shocking scenes of the Irish fighter and his entourage attacking a bus carrying his rival Khabib Nurmagomedov in New York in April 2018 went viral after footage was leaked. McGregor pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct in a Brooklyn court in July 2018. He had to perform five days of community service and attend anger management classes as part of his sentence.

Sexual assault claims

McGregor faces two separate allegations of sexual assault. In the first incident, the alleged victim claimed to have evidence proving the assault happened outside the Beacon hotel in Dublin, Ireland in 2019.

A second assault case is also being investigated relating to allegations made in October 2019. He has denied the claims. No charges have been laid against him in either case.

Pub punch-up

McGregor walked into an Irish pub and offered free drinks. An elderly man declined and McGregor punched him. The incident was caught on CCTV and the MMA fighter was found guilty and fined Euro1,000 (US$1,086). The judge said McGregor had pleaded guilty, expressed remorse and compensated the victim so jail time was avoided.
