YIBIN, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Yibin in southwest China's Sichuan Province is located at the confluence of the Jinsha and Minjiang rivers which converge into the Yangtze River.

It is known as the "first city along the Yangtze River". To improve the ecological environment along the Yangtze, the city has taken measures such as shutting down energy-intensive and polluting businesses, closing sand dredging sites, reducing the amount of sewage discharged, and creating wetland parks.
