On-site in Rio | From APEC to G20, Xi's "engaging with people and people are engaging with him"

"I was surprised that President Xi has so many fans here (in Rio)," said Brazilian freelancer Fatima Lacerda.

At the 19th G20 Summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China is ready to work with all parties to build a just world of common development, and outlined China's eight actions for global development.

Xi's remarks were echoed by experts and scholars on-site at the G20 Media Center.

"If you watch the live feeds in Lima and in here, he's engaging with people and people are engaging with him," said John Kavulich, senior research editor of the Issue Insight from Washington DC.
