When it comes to kitchen equipment, any chef worth their smoked sea salt will know that Gaggenau is one of the best brands to explore. It's no wonder that some of Hong Kong's top chefs have joined forces with the German home appliances brand to launch its third culinary artisans series: A Dialogue with Gaggenau. The series includes 10 exclusive masterclasses or cooking demonstrations, some inclusive of a private dining experience, that will educate enthusiasts on how to cook in a state-of-the-art Gaggenau kitchen.

Participating chefs include the likes of Manav Tuli of Chaat, Franckelie Laloum of Louise, and Agustin Balbi of Ando, among others, who will host an interactive class or demonstration for guests in attendance. Special classes such as a Christmas cooking class led by Maxime Gilbert of Écriture and a Chinese New Year cooking class with Yip Kar-on from Duddell's are also on the schedule. Masterclasses and demonstrations will be held across three showroom locations at KI Cubus, KI Sunning and KI Island South Galleria. More information will be available at kih.com.hk from October 7 onwards

Sunset Grill is hosting a special four-hands dinner, along with a limited a la carte menu, created by chef Ryota Kanesawa of Ryota Kappou Modern and resident chef Martín Carrasco. Both menus are designed to bring together the ethos of modern kaiseki with innovative European techniques and cuisine. Highlights from the menu include a Boston lobster soup made with white miso; Kurobuta pork katsu sando with comté cheese and tonkatsu sauce; and Wagyu beef tenderloin from Kyoto served with banana shallot, sweet potato and pumpkin chutney with black garlic teriyaki sauce. The four-hands dinner will be held at Sunset Grill on October 2 while other dishes will be available from October 3 until the end of the month.

Butter has opened a new shop, complete with limited seating, on the first floor of K11 Musea. The new shop offers nine of its most favoured American-style cakes and pies, available by the slice, every day of the week including the ever-popular apple pie. There will also be three exclusives for this particular venue: the Lil’ Checkerboard Cake, a whole cake with layers of chocolate and vanilla cream; Itty-Bitty Banana Cream Pie, a bite-sized treat with banana pudding, salted caramel whipped cream and a graham cracker crust; and the individual-sized cookie Kitchen Sink Bars with shredded coconut, peanuts, pretzels, caramel sauce and more.

During the launch, special sets with three slices of pie (apple, cherry, and lemon meringue) and five slices of cake (triple chocolate, carrot, New York cheesecake, red velvet, and pineapple upside-down) will also be available. Guests can also enjoy diner-style drinks including the housemade root beer, strawberry limeade and root beer float.

Ever sat inside a bar, sipping on a cocktail and thought, this is a great time to get my eyebrows done? Well, now you can do exactly that, thanks to Candour's newly launched Planet Her ladies’ night on Wednesday evenings which kicks off with a month-long collaboration with cosmetics brand Benefit. The bar has created three new cocktails that are inspired by eyebrow products, and each order comes with a complimentary travel-sized product until October 19. What's more, Benefit’s mobile brow bar will offer free waxing on-site so guests, and their eyebrows, can be on fleek.

Thereafter, the ladies' night continues with two new drinks: a coconut daiquiri and Lillet Blanc highball—which is on the house from 8 to 9pm—along with the signature Green Light, a gin-based cocktail with tarragon chartreuse, sugar snap pea, honeydew and lime. Dedicated to women everywhere, the ladies' night will also include a live DJ playing hip-hop tracks by female rappers and artists every Wednesday from 8pm to 12am.

Kyoto might be open to tourists now, but you’ll want to stay behind for Japanese gin brand Ki No Bi’s latest collaborative pairing menu with Censu. From October 3 until November 5, chef Shun Sato will be cooking up an eight-course menu that has been synchronised to the six base elements—base, citrus, spice, herbal, tea, fruit and floral—that make up Ki No Bi gin. Expect pairings like a cucumber Gimlet with hay-smoked bonito tataki; a Lychee Mule with snow crab chawanmushi served in shell; a Spiced Negroni with shirako-topped nigiri; and a warm cocktail of Ki No Cha gin and green tea with chestnut mousse dango. The menu is priced at HK$1,388 including drink pairings.
