This season, Aulis unveils a new Saturday lunch menu for HK$680 and a seasonal dinner menu for HK$1,380. Under the guidance of chef Kieran McGarrigle, the development kitchen offers an interactive experience where each dish is expertly plated, finished and explained at the table. The lunch menu, available every Saturday at 12.30pm features eight courses from the dinner tasting menu, blending local ingredients with cutting-edge culinary techniques. Highlights include the grilled farmhouse brassicas with poached Akasaki Iwate oyster and horseradish and desserts like Himalayan Mulberry with mountain marigold cream.

Over at Roganic, a new short tasting dinner for HK$780 is on the menu, along with a long tasting dinner for HK$1,180, both featuring optional wine or non-alcoholic pairings. The menus continue to emphasise sustainability and seasonal local ingredients, with head chef Adam Catterall creating dishes like farmhouse tomatoes with pickled mud crab and roast onion broth, and May Queen potatoes in chicken fat with pickled walnut and ramson.

Malaysia-born Australian chef Esca Khoo, who has cooked for culinary luminaries including Rene Redzepi and Heston Blumenthal, is bringing his talents to Hong Kong this weekend, with exclusive dinners taking place on May 18 and 19 at Test Kitchen. Priced at HK$1,080 per person, the eight-course tasting menu is inspired by Khoo’s travels across Asia and features highlights such as Tsukiji breakfast with fresh sashimi and whipped tamago; duck samgyetang with roasted duck and kimchi; crying tiger with Wagyu M6 and apple som tam; and golden cake with roasted chocolate and burnt vanilla. The dinners start at 7pm and include free corkage.

Richard Ekkebus of Amber at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental is joining forces with chef Mory Sacko from Michelin-starred MoSuke from Paris for an exclusive collaboration. From June 5 to 7, these two culinary innovators will present a 12-course tasting menu that melds Sacko’s unique blend of African, Japanese and French influences with Ekkebus’ expertise in contemporary French cuisine. Highlights include Sacko’s signature dishes such as the Pepe soup, enriched with a variety of fish and spices, and beef matured in shea butter accompanied by a rich mafé sauce. Meanwhile, Ekkebus will showcase refined creations like heirloom tomatoes with jalapeno and shiso, and a kinmedai dish enhanced with garum soy and kinome. The dinner is priced at HK$3,598 per person with additional options for wine pairings starting from HK$1,998.

Cardinal Point’s new Sunday brunch

Cardinal Point, located at the top of Landmark Hong Kong, is introducing a new sky-high brunch experience, dubbed the “Heal Dream Brunch”, which is available on Sundays and public holidays. Priced from HK$500, this four-course brunch includes a mezze platter, a choice of starters including tuna tataki and crab cake eggs benedict, followed by main courses such as chicken parma and a Wagyu burger, for an additional HK$120. There is also the option to indulge in Sunday roast items like traditional suckling pig, for an additional HK$180, or prime rib, for an extra HK$220. Desserts include a decadent tiramisu lava and banoffee split.

Guests can also enhance the experience with a 2.5-hour free-flow package, featuring cocktails, for HK$380, or bubbles and wine, for HK$680, which includes continuous pours Maison Mumm RSRV Cuvee 4.5 NV, Minuty M Rosé 2022, Domaine Des Malandes Chablis 2022, and Francois Thienpont Causse Rouge 2018, in addition to the cocktails. Enjoy all this set against the backdrop of Hong Kong's skyline with live DJ performances.

Vinexpo Asia, one of the largest exhibitions for wine and spirits professionals, returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 28 to 30. This year’s event, marking its comeback since the pandemic, features over 50 masterclasses, conferences and tastings, providing industry professionals with invaluable insights into the latest trends and innovations.
