CHENGDU, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- A forest fire that broke out Monday in southwest China's Sichuan Province has been extinguished, said local authorities on Wednesday, adding that no casualties were reported.
The fire started at around 3:20 p.m. in Chengxiang Village of Yajiang County. At 11 a.m., there were no visible flames at the scene, according to the headquarters of forest and grassland fire prevention and control of Yajiang.
After the fire broke out, local firefighters rushed to the site to contain the fire with the help of helicopters, said the headquarters. ■
