The two-decade U.S. war in Afghanistan followed by a hasty withdrawal shows that military adventurism and imposition of western values on foreign lands are counter-productive for the global order, some Pakistani experts have said.
The war in Afghanistan has seen great civilian casualties. Incomplete statistics show that since entering the battlefield in Oct. 2001, the U.S. troops have caused more than 30,000 civilian deaths.
