Nine people trapped by a landslide triggered by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake that jolted Luding County in southwest China's Sichuan Province on Monday have been evacuated by firefighters with a rope rescue.
Among the evacuees, an elderly person who sustained serious injuries is now in stable condition.
During the rescue, the vulnerable, such as the elderly, children and women were given priority.
Local authorities said on Wednesday that 74 people have been killed and 26 remain missing after the earthquake on Monday.
