Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Lopez, Donnie Yen, Mamamoo’s Hwasa and Dua Lipa are some of the most notable, successful and stylish figures in their respective fields in the entertainment industry, and what they all have in common is that they are Leos.

Leos (July 22-August 23) are fixed fire signs, ruled by the sun represented by the lion. This results in bold personalities, warmth and creativity, as well as wanting to be in the spotlight to a degree.

While a standout look can be made up of unique top and bottom pieces, a pared-back look with a bold shoe can make a bigger impact. Michelle Yeoh often takes fashion risks on the red carpet and at events, and is a testament to the concept of owning a look—no matter how drastic the style is. At this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Yeoh opted for this burgundy and eggshell blue fringed strapless leather gown from Bottega Veneta’s autumn-winter 2024 collection. She further leant into the edgy nature of the ensemble with a rocker shag hair-do—fringe, layers and all—which strikes a new chord from her typically elegant approach to event dressing.

Bright gold jewellery—and lots of it—is a simple way to capture the bold, warm and standout nature of the Leo. Earlier this month, singer Dua Lipa layered multiple chunky necklaces to contrast her simple ensemble, consisting of a white tank top, black trousers and sunglasses. It’s a straightforward way of making a statement and a strong summer look to boot.
