This 1,956-sq.ft. house in Hong Kong’s Southside offers a young family of four a sense of stillness and seclusion from the bustling city.
The renovation begins with a shuffling of the layout. The open kitchen and dining/living area have been brought slightly closer to the outdoor zone and garden, bringing the family much closer to nature and introducing abundant natural light into an otherwise dingy interior.
The new arrangement is a much better fit for the inhabitant’s lifestyles and living priorities. The design team also wields nature-inspired textures and colours into the home: a combination of stone, timber, and plaster is set against a palette of soft greys, whites, and sandy neutrals.
The soothing, peaceful ambience turns every moment spent at the residence into an impromptu conversation with nature.
