If you thought the handbags of iconic French fashion house Louis Vuitton could not be any more luxurious, think again. The Maison cements its reputation as one of the world’s most highly skilled masters of the trade by handcrafting its iconic Capucines silhouette using precious skins in a painstaking, 300-step process.

There is a playful plethora of exotic skins and colours to choose from. Crocodile makes its bid for most coveted, offered in an abundance of brightly pigmented hues, each mimicking the tone of a precious gemstone for a statement-making effect. You’ll also find the added choice of ombré iterations and either matte or glossy finishes.

For a more classic take, the ostrich model is available in a range of timeless, natural shades, while the python incarnation lends itself beautifully to showcasing the intricate embellishment of each scale through paintwork and embroidery. Fur varieties of the Capucines offer textural interest, while lizard or shagreen skins, only available in smaller sizes, are the chicest plus-one for elegant soirées.

The Capucines contours are the perfect complement to the latest exotic coatings. Named after Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the street where the Louis Vuitton brand was founded in 1854, the minimalist bag, which initially launched in 2013, has become one of the House’s most desired trophy pieces—defined by signature LV initials, distinctive rings, clean lines and a structured silhouette. The creation’s design elements combine to transcend occasions and decades. The end result? An heirloom keepsake worthy of being cherished for a lifetime and beyond.
