"Inside Out 2" tops Chinese mainland daily box office

BEIJING, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Disney and Pixar's animated film "Inside Out 2" topped the box office chart on the Chinese mainland on its premiere on Friday, data from the China Movie Data Information Network showed.

The sequel to 2015's "Inside Out" generated a daily box office of 16.78 million yuan (about 2.36 million U.S. dollars) on the day.

It was followed by domestic youth romance "Reversed Destiny," which was also on its first day of screening, with a daily box office earning of 6.36 million yuan.

Domestic teen comedy "Be My Friend" came in third, grossing 5.25 million yuan on the day.

The total box office revenue on the Chinese mainland stood at 55.11 million yuan on Friday. ■
