NAGAON, India, March 14 (Xinhua) -- A stray Bengal tiger was seen looking for food near a tea garden in Nagaon, India, whose strong body and thick fur indicate the achievements of tiger protection made by the country.

Tigers are considered as a national symbol of India and have played a significant role in a healthy ecosystem. The country launched Project Tiger in April 1973 to protect these big cats from extinction.
