Real Madrid was held to a 1-1 draw by Atletico Madrid, remaining two points clear ahead of Girona in La Liga.
MADRID, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid defender Marcos Llorente scored an injury time goal against his former club to save a point for his side and stop Real Madrid moving four points clear at the top of La Liga.
Brahim Diaz, playing after Vinicius Jr had been injured in the pre-game warm-up, put Real Madrid ahead in the first half after the ball fell kindly to him.
Llorente powered home a header in the 93rd minute, taking advantage of Real's makeshift central defensive pairing of Nacho Fernandez and Dani Carvajal.
Sunday's other games saw Villarreal and Cadiz draw 0-0, which keeps Cadiz in the bottom three.
Elsewhere, Celta claimed a vital 3-0 win away to Osasuna that lifts them clear of the bottom three and gives Rafa Benitez some breathing space, thanks to goals from Jorgen Strand Larsen and Luca de la Torre, who netted in the 23rd and 24th minute, before Tasos Douvikas scored a third in the last minute of the game.
Osasuna had most of the ball but looked tired after their midweek match away to FC Barcelona.
There was a penalty for each side as Betis and Getafe drew 1-1, with Mason Greenwood putting Getafe ahead in the eighth minute and Isco leveling from the spot 10 minutes before halftime. ■
