臨近初夏，相信不少學生已經非常期待暑假來臨，平時上堂日日窩在學校，到長假期當然要趁機走出課室，到戶外親親大自然。香港外展訓練學校每月也會定期舉行不同課程，參加者既不能上網，又沒地方洗澡，更加要上山下海，儘管過程一點也不輕鬆，許多參加過的朋友仍然大力推薦，到底外展訓練有甚麼吸引呢？

香港外展訓練學校為慈善註冊及非牟利的教育機構，基地位於西貢半島，專門為企業、教育團體和公眾提供野外訓練課程，筆者早幾年也曾參加過5日4夜的訓練營，同行的一共有12名參加者和2位導師，活動期間除了不能帶手機，連替換衣物也只能帶一套，名副其實輕裝上陣，而其他裝備例如露營地蓆、水壺、睡袋和煮食爐具則由外展學校提供，參加者能專注訓練。

西貢半島地勢跌宕起伏，附近亦有數個風景怡人的小島。在訓練期間，參加者會在附近海域進行獨木舟訓練，例如從往灣洲划到附近的吉澳、赤洲和塔門等小島，過程中有可能要由天光划到天黑，就算飄著細雨也只能繼續前進，少點體能和毅力也堅持不到。部分導師更會加插一個「Solo」環節，讓每位參加者獨自在荒島上過一晚夜，進行自我反思和享受在大自然獨處的寧靜。另外還有跳碼頭、攀石和高空繩索等考膽量的挑戰，這些體驗一般人確實難以經歷得到。

女生亦不會獲優待
除了以上提到的挑戰，營內的大小事務要組員一手一腳完成。記得筆者當年一入營後，導師就告訴所有女生在訓練中不會得到優待，女生照樣要搬運物資和紮營，男生也需要負責煮食和當領航員的角色，每位組員也要輪流擔任這些崗位，訓練團隊合作性之餘，也能提升自信，對於時下被稱為「港孩」的青少年，這種鍛練對他們的個人成長非常有幫助。

雖然外展訓練非常刻苦，不過在克服困難之後，參加者看到的郊野景致也會叫人畢生難忘，例如在塔門隨處可見的牛、赤洲上的岩石地貌、西貢的星空和日出等。如果你也想欣賞到香港獨特的自然景色，又想挑戰自己的極限，嘗試一種未有過的生活方式的話，不妨考慮參加外展訓練，讓你的假期過得更加充實。
