International experts have said the U.S. military operations in the Middle East under the pretext of "war on terror" after the 9/11 attacks reveal the country's hegemonic calculations.

Over 900,000 people have died in the post-9/11 wars due to direct war violence, and several times as many due to the reverberating effects of war, according to figures from the Costs of War project at Brown University.

The U.S. federal price tag for the post-9/11 wars is over 8 trillion dollars, which have also been accompanied by violations of human rights and civil liberties in the United States and abroad, the Costs of War project found.
