BEIJING, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.15 percent to 3,373.75 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.23 percent higher at 10,668.1 points.
The combined turnover of the two indices stood at about 1.19 trillion yuan (roughly 165.82 billion U.S. dollars), slightly up from 1.15 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to textile machinery and medical equipment led the gains, while those in the power generation sector suffered big losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.24 percent to close at 2,145.1 points. ■
