CHENGDU, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- Rescue and disaster relief actions are underway after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake rocked Luding County and neighboring regions in southwest China's Sichuan Province Monday.
A total of 66 people died as a result of the earthquake. Fifteen people were missing and 253 were injured, local authorities said Tuesday.
Sichuan has activated the highest level of emergency response for the earthquake.
