The first joint exhibition "The Future of the Kitchen" by German home appliance brand Bosch and top Italian furniture brand Poliform took place at the METAL ZONE venue in ELEMENTS from January 6th to 14th. The exhibition took guests on a journey through the designs of contemporary home appliances.
The exhibition featured a variety of classic and new home appliances that embody the brand philosophy of #LikeaBosch, including a series of refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, and built-in ovens. The exhibition highlighted how these products complement modern kitchen designs, featuring the latest trends in home decor while also offering visitors more in-depth knowledge of the brand's background.
Established in 1886, Bosch is renowned for its durability and high quality. Its products combine precise engineering and electronic technology, complemented by sleek and stylish designs, transforming the kitchen into an artistic space.
BSH Home Appliances Limited (BSH Hong Kong) Managing Director and CEO Chloe Kwok stated, "This exhibition is our first themed exhibition held in a large-scale shopping mall in Hong Kong. The showcased pure black Bosch accent|line built-in oven was launched at IFA (the world's largest and most influential consumer electronics and home appliances exhibition) in 2002. With its stylish appearance and artificial intelligence technology, it won the prestigious German iF Design Award in 2003, earning worldwide recognition. Among 1,100 entries worldwide, it was one of the award-winning works, accounting for only 1%."
In addition to showcasing Bosch's home appliances, this exhibition also includes kitchen cabinets designed by Italian manufacturer Poliform. The cabinets feature top-quality oak and a serene colour palette to highlight the pure black exterior of the new Bosch accent|line built-in oven.
Kevin Tse, Vice Managing Director of Yibang Hang Group, the sole agent of Poliform in Hong Kong, stated, "The collaboration between us and Bosch is a perfect match, which is rarely seen in the market. In fact, the kitchen is just a supporting role, and it requires multifunctional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen appliances to maximise its functionality. I highly appreciate Bosch's brand philosophy and products. Their comprehensive range of kitchen appliances can be coordinated and matched with each other, ensuring a consistent visual appeal in the space."
On the opening day of the exhibition, Bosch invited Johnny Yan, the World Pulled Sugar Champion, to demonstrate the making of dragon beard candy. Guests sampled Johnny's personally prepared cotton candy, delighting in its vibrant blend of colours, scents and tastes.
In addition, Bosch collaborated with Home Journal to organize the "Hong Kong Kitchen Design Awards," aiming to encourage local interior designers to showcase their creativity and help customers enhance the sense of space in their kitchens through modern and minimalist designs with integrated appliances. The award ceremony took place during "The Future of the Kitchen" exhibition opening, attracting talented individuals from the local interior design industry, making it a lively event.
Chloe Kwok added, "Bosch has always placed importance on sustainable development, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting 'zero is hero.' Therefore, the exhibition showcases the exclusive features of Bosch Vario Style refrigerators, such as the 'VitaFresh 0°C meat freshness compartment' and 'VitaFresh vegetable and fruit freshness compartment.' These compartments provide an ideal temperature and humidity of about 50% for storing meat or sushi, as well as about 95% humidity for extending the freshness of vegetables and fruits. The refrigerator not only serves its primary function but also helps extend the shelf-life of food and reduce food waste. Globally, approximately 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted each year, with kitchen waste accounting for a quarter or more of this waste. Bosch refrigerators, with their hygienic filtration system, offer a great solution for preserving kitchen waste and reducing waste."
Many of Bosch's products are developed with a focus on sustainability. For example, their dishwashers utilize natural zeolite mineral called Zeolith to achieve the Perfect Dry function, which can save up to 20% of water and 20% of energy.
