Nespresso Gourmet Weeks is back for another year, with the instant coffee giant lining up three chef collaborations taking place over the course of this summer at Artisan Lounge in K11 Musea. This year comes with special significance as Nespresso is launching its Vertuo Next brewing system in Hong Kong, which offers a more diverse range of proprietary capsules—each with their own unique barcode so that the machine can customise its brewing temperature, flow, and amount of water for the optimum results every time.

Heading the campaign is Barry Quek of Whey, who has designed four a-la-carte dishes to pair with Nespresso's Vertuo coffee blends. Highlights include the chicken liver parfait with mulberry gel and Nespresso Hazelino Muffin-infused brioche; and Nespresso Peru Organic-infused pork rib with jicama and black garlic. Available until June 19, Quek's stint will be followed by The Chairman's Danny Yip between 20 June and 3 July; and finally, Maxime Gilbert of Écriture between 4 July and 18 July.

Ahead of Phillips' day and evening sales of 20th-century and contemporary art on June 21-22, the auction house has partnered with Johnnie Walker Blue Label to create a bespoke cocktail programme for a private VIP dinner held in the lead-up. For the occasion, The Old Man's Art Fatkullin channeled the compositions of four of the artworks into a medley of flavours.

Both iconic and up-and-coming artists are representing: David Hockney's Painted Landscape is translated into a spirit-forward highball mixing Blue Label with dried longan, apricot, lychee and apricot seeds, replete with a stick of tarragon inside of an ice spear; while Swiss artist Nicolas Party's Two Portraits sees its bright yellow background mirrored in a drink of Blue Label, turmeric, jasmine tea, bergamot, cloves, lemon, sea buckthorn and pineapple served in a coupe glass with a side of edible lipstick.

Although the cocktails won't be served outside of the private dinner, the featured artworks will be available for public viewing at Phillips' preview exhibitions at JW Marriott from June 18-21.

To celebrate its second anniversary on July 7, Andō has linked up with neighbouring Ta Vie—whose chef-proprietor Hideaki Sato will also be celebrating his birthday in the same month—on a one-night-only crossover that spans both restaurants for HK$2,888 per head. “Since our restaurants are also so close to each other, I cannot think of a better friend to celebrate this special occasion with. I hope that our guests enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it together,” says Andō's Agustin Balbi.

At Ta Vie, guests will begin the first portion of their night with starters like Wagyu tartare with yuzu kosho and squid in cracker, and Sato-san's Peking duck; before moving to Andō, where a five-course tasting menu of dishes like Kegani crab with Japanese sweet corn, steamed foie gras egg custard with red eggplant and porcini mushroom, and Kurobuta pork with sweet potato and black truffle will be presented. Krug Grande Cuvée champagne will be poured freely throughout the night.

Over two nights in August, Maison Mumm is set to bring its Reserve & Regale dinner series to Cultivate for an exclusive eight-course tasting menu designed to be paired with a live classical music performance. For the occasion, chef Leonard Cheung designed dishes to be paired with a vintage selection of Maison Mumm’s full range of 100% Grand Cru RSRV.

Expect pairings like Barbarie duck with a beet merlot gel, red pearl onions, duck granola, plums, tardivo, and compressed blackberries, served with Blanc de Noirs 2012; Thai Crab Taco featuring a radish salad, served with Blanc de Blancs 2014; and seared foie gras, brussels chiffonade, charred brussels, yuzu-onion jam, and green apples, served with 4.5 Cuvée. Priced at HK$2,988 per person from August 10-11, book your seats online here.

The art and beverage connection continues at Hypebeans, which will feature a takeover by Spanish artist Javier Calleja for the month of June. During this time, the cafe will be serving the Golden Black, featuring a creamy frothed mixture of americano and yuzu puree that results in a fluffy foam layer without the addition of milk, and served in a special edition coffee cup featuring a drawing of Calleja's Cafeto mascot. The cafe space has also been redesigned with installations of Calleja's art, while time-limited merchandise will be available for purchase next door at HBX.
