WUHAN, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- An integrated smart logistics center in central China's city of Wuhan has helped enable fast delivery of parcels in the wake of the country's annual "Double Eleven" shopping carnival.
The Wuhan "Asia No. 1" smart warehouse is one of the logistics centers of JD Logistics, the supply chain arm under Chinese online retailer JD.com.
The center features the large scale use of robots and automated equipment like sorting conveyors and the robots roaming the aisles which can run at speeds of 3 meters per second and 6 meters per second respectively.
The robots can efficiently deliver parcels to logistics centers nationwide and largely shorten delivery time and raise allocation and transshipment efficiency, the company said.
