Luxury waterfront living on the River Thames.

Riverside homes are rare commodities in London. For those who crave a balance between the excitement of London city life and riverside tranquillity, look no further than Riverscape – a rare luxury residential development on the River Thames due for completion between 2023 and 2024.

Developed by Ballymore and Oxley, the residential complex – now up for sale in Hong Kong via Jones Lang LaSalle – is strategically located on the River Thames near the 40-acre Royal Wharf estate within the burgeoning Royal Docks district.

As the only Enterprise Zone in London, Royal Docks is emerging as a coveted address for business, arts and culture with ExCeL’s expansion plan well underway, and the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) soon to open at Custom House, enabling a fast commute from the area to Heathrow Airport in 44 minutes and the West End in 20 minutes. Together with massive investments being poured into the area and into the neighbouring London City Airport, the district is set to deliver 25,000 new homes and 60,000 jobs over the coming years.

Done by Glenn Howells Architects and interior design firm Amos & Amos, Riverside will offer a total of 561 private homes and 207 affordable homes which feature large picture windows overlooking the Thames, a green parkland and the iconic Canary Wharf skyline.

Each flat is designed to reflect the essence of the surrounding riverscape and parkland with the use of bronze mirrors, fluted glass, and weathered wood incorporated throughout. The lobbies feature ceramic zig zag tiled walls that play with the reflection of light, complemented by textured worn stone herringbone flooring that is also used on the park-side pedestrian paths.

With healthy living at its core, the development integrates more than 5,500 m2 of lush courtyards and walkways – lined with green pines and ornamental Japanese and American maples – that aim to bring residents closer to nature. Residents can also enjoy easy access to the historic Lyle Park and the Thames Barrier Park nearby.

Luxury amenities include access to a 24-hour concierge service; a dedicated estate management team; a bespoke app (lifestyle management at the touch of a button); and a premium Sky Lounge, providing residents with ample spaces for co-working, private dining and events. Residents will also get membership to The Clubhouse at Royal Wharf and enjoy a wealth of facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, jacuzzi, a gym powered by Technogym’s latest equipment, and a wide array of classes and fitness options.

On the transportation front, Riverside is only minutes from two Docklands Light Rail stations – West Silvertown and Pontoon Dock – and a short walk to Crossrail, offering fast links to Canary Wharf and the London City Airport. The new riverboat terminal – the Royal Wharf Pier – presents a new transport alternative for residents between the development and central London.
