South Korean F-16 fighters accompanied the Russian aircraft at some stages of the mission.
MOSCOW, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Two Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers performed a scheduled flight above the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.
The flight lasted about seven hours in accordance with international rules for airspace use. Russian Su-30SM fighters escorted the bombers, the ministry said in a statement.
It added that South Korean F-16 fighters accompanied the Russian aircraft at some stages of the mission. ■
