美國隊主帥Kerr指Jayson Tatum下場將上陣

在美國對塞爾維亞的分組賽後，美國隊主教練Steve Kerr 被記者問及全場沒派Jayson Tatum 上陣一事。

Kerr 表示賽前有預先跟Tatum 溝通，讓他知道今場他或有不會上陣的可能性；原因包括：(I) 剛傷愈的Kevin Durant 需要一些上陣時間 (有利他的狀態調整)，(II) 奧運賽事每場只是40分鐘，難以用上多於10位球員。

Kerr 也指每場賽事因應不同對手所需要的陣容皆不同；並說Tatum 應對今場這個狀況，相當專業。("He [Tatum] is an amazing guy. Great player. And handled it beautifully.")

Kerr 亦笑言今場整場沒派連續三屆入選All-NBA一隊的Tatum 上陣，讓他自己感覺像個白痴。("He's a total pro. He is, you know, First Team All-NBA three years in a row. I felt like an idiot not playing him.") Kerr 表明Tatum 下場將會上陣。

Kerr 在同一個訪問亦有談及今場替補上陣、表現大好的Kevin Durant，指自四月以來沒打正式五人籃球賽事的Durant 打出驚人好表現，且一上場就影響球賽局勢，但這沒令他驚訝，因為他以往已曾見識過Durant 的能耐。

Kerr亦盛讚Durant 是他所見過技巧最高強的籃球員 ("I've said it before, I think he's the most skilled basketball player I have ever seen")。

Kerr 也提到LeBron James 的好表現- 說Erik Spoelstra 及Tyronn Lue 兩位曾執教LeBron 的教練皆有告知他，LeBron 在重要的賽事會打得更好 ("When the stakes are at their highest, he is at his best.")。

也說LeBron 今場表現比之前5場友誼賽的優異表現更佳。("He was really good in the friendlies, but there is a different level of energy. At 39 [years old], for him to still be doing this is amazing.")
