Mineko Kato was born in Tokyo and grew up in England and Italy, with a love for design, fine arts, modern art and manufacturing. Becoming a pastry chef was her childhood dream. Kato has trained at top-tier restaurants in Milan, Modena and Florence, and currently works at the Michelin-starred Italian restaurant Faro in Tokyo.
Kato also upholds sustainable principles, taking inspiration from Japan’s natural landscapes and produce. She believes that plants and nature can have a positive impact on human well-being. Her exceptional talent has earned her recognition as Asia’s best pastry chef.
