HANGZHOU, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's police chief has called for further efforts to bolster public security capabilities and safeguard the country's modernization endeavors.
Wang Xiaohong, a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of public security, made the remarks during a national meeting attended by local police chiefs, which was held on Thursday and Friday in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.
He urged public security organs to fulfill their duties in an improved manner, prioritize the protection of the people's peace and happiness, promote the development of smart public security, and thoroughly implement reform measures. ■
