DALIAN, NOV. 15 (Xinhua) -- Dalian, a port city in Liaoning Province in northeast China, began a new round of citywide nucleic acid testing on Sunday to combat the spread of COVID-19.
For massive nucleic acid tests, Dalian has erected a set of "Falcon" air-inflated testing labs. The labs can screen up to 80,000 tubes per day, which is a significant improvement in testing capacity following the recent recurrence of COVID-19 cases in the city.
The latest local upsurge in Dalian began on Nov. 4, with a cold storage worker as the first case. As of Sunday, 260 locally transmitted cases had been reported in Dalian, the majority of which had occurred in the county-level city of Zhuanghe.
