Highlights include bakwan kepiting, a crab and pork meatball soup with bamboo shoots; curry kapitan, an aromatic Malaysian Nyonya chicken curry mildly spiced with a thick semi-dry curry sauce; kiam chye ark, a duck and pork leg soup with salted vegetable, gingko nuts and mushrooms; and inchi kabin, Penang fried chicken marinated with spices and coconut milk, served with fried bread and a special Worcestershire sauce dip.
Vegetarians can go for nyonya chap chye, which consists of cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, dried bean curd sheets, cloud ear fungus and glass noodles. End your meal on a sweet note with kuih salat, a popular Malaysian and Singaporean dessert made with sticky rice, layered with pandan coconut egg custard.
