Amid a spine tingling atmosphere at Sumo Hall for the main event of One Championship's Century Part 2, Aung La N Sang blasted out Brandon Vera to defend his light heavyweight title with a stunning TKO victory.

"The Burmese Python" had plenty of travelling support from Myanmar, and they were left delirious when referee Olivier Coste stepped in at 3:23 of the second round.

N Sang rocked the heavyweight champion with a spinning back elbow and then dropped him before delivering some strikes against the fence.

"That was fun," was how N Sang summed it up.

Perhaps scarily for the rest of the middleweight and lightweight divisions, he feels he has still got room to improve.

"I can't wait to get back to the gym and put some work in, clean up some technique," added N Sang, who trains out of Hard Knocks 365 in Florida. "I've been fighting since I was 19 years old, I'm 34 now."

N Sang edged a ferocious first round of striking with both men landing big shots and counters, to a cacophony of noise from the Burmese fans, who had danced in the aisles and waved plastic Burmese flags to their man's raucous ring walk.

Vera wasn't without support himself, with plenty of Filipinos cheering him in. It all made for an intense match-up that looked like it could have gone either way.

Vera was even probably edging the second round before getting wobbled by that elbow.

"The strategy was to keep pressure on him, keep it in his face, block when he throws," N Sang said. "He's got a lot of power though, so I gotta make sure everything is tidy. But I got the job done."

N Sang then thanks his fans. "Without them I wouldn't be the man I am."

In the first co-main event, Bibiano Fernandes came out on top in his rivalry with Kevin Belingon, defending his bantamweight title with a second-round submission in what was their fourth fight together.

Japan's Shinya Aoki then made Honorio Banario tap out to a D'Arce choke in just 54 seconds, to the delight of the home crowd.
