In Hong Kong, Miramar Group is synonymous with excellence. With 67 years dedicated to quality and service, its portfolio spans hotels, serviced apartments, property rentals, travel services, and the renowned dining service. Its dedication to perfection was on full display during the inaugural 24-hands gala dinner, Taste Walk, which celebrated signature dishes from Mira Dining’s restaurants.

A unique culinary event hosted by Mira Dining and Tatler Hong Kong, the Taste Walk 24-hands gala dinner brought together 12 chefs, who collaborated on a multi-course meal over two nights. Each course took diners on a journey through different eras, cuisines and culinary experiences. Dishes included Jaja’s flower bouquet salad; Whisk’s Kaviari caviar with uni; Tsui Hang Village’s shunde fish head soup; Cuisine Cuisine’s sautéed crystal king prawn; and Mue Mue’s Thai-style fried rice noodles with crabmeat and fresh coconut. For dessert, guests indulged in poached peach with champagne jelly and fromage blanc and Breton biscuits.

But the evening’s highlights also included experiences beyond the dishes served. One was a performance by singer and actor Archie Sin, accompanied by his live band. Another was chef Saito Chau’s live demonstration of the flaming dongpo tower, Chinesology’s signature dish, named after the famous poet Su Dongpo, which features layers of pork belly, preserved vegetables, mushrooms and sometimes rum or other spirits. Finally, guests took part in a fun trivia quiz, with dining vouchers and premium wines for the winners.

A conversation with the emcee highlighted star pastry chef Smita Grosse’s thoughts on the role of women in the industry in Hong Kong. “Women chefs here are breaking barriers and setting new standards,” she said. “It’s not just about baking; it’s about leadership, creativity and resilience. Mastering pastry skills is essential, but so is leading a team, innovating with desserts and pushing through challenges.”

In his address, Mr. Alan Chan, chief operations officer of Miramar Group, expressed his gratitude to the attendees. “Thank you for supporting us at tonight's 'Taste Walk' dinner. With seasoned chefs and talented young cooks from Mira Dining, creating dishes that mirror different eras, this dinner transcends mere culinary experiences; it is a journey through Hong Kong's culinary heritage.” As the night drew to a close, guests left with cherished memories that would linger long after the last course had been savoured.

At the 24-hands gala dinner, Mira Dining’s legacy of culinary excellence was on full display, showcasing its ongoing impact on Hong Kong’s dining scene.
